Buffalo
Rules
- The Buffalo Regularium operates on a 12-hour cycle: from 00:00 – 11:59, all drinks must be held in the dominant hand; from 12:00 – 23:59, all drinks must be held in the non-dominant hand.
- If anyone yells “Buffalo!” while you’re drinking with the wrong hand, you must finish your drink immediately.
- Any person observed drinking with their dominant hand is subject to a Buffalo call in accordance with the rules in force at that time.
- The rule applies 24/7, forever — even after the game “ends”.
- The prohibition against drinking with the dominant hand extends to the vessel’s straw. Holding a straw in the dominant hand while drinking shall constitute a Buffalo violation in equal measure.
- Utterance of the phrases “Six Seven” or “Sechs Sieben” shall constitute a Buffalo offense subject to Rule 7.
- Any player who commits a forbidden-phrase violation must immediately open and consume a drink in full. The absence of a drink at the time of the offense provides no exemption — a drink must be acquired forthwith and consumed in its entirety without delay.
- Utterance of “Schere Diggi” and/or display of its corresponding hand sign (🖖🏻) shall trigger the immediate acquisition and full consumption of a drink. The absence of a drink provides no exemption. Rule 7 applies in full.
- Should a player consume another player’s drink and subsequently receive a Buffalo call, the offending player shall order the identical drink at their own expense. The penalty clock begins upon receipt of said order.
- Should the Shotcaller call Buffalo upon a player, and the accused player has not upheld the 3-minute rule, the accused player is in turn entitled to hold the Shotcaller liable for one shot, payable immediately.
- Double Buffalo — If you call a false Buffalo (the person was actually using the correct hand), you must finish your own drink.
